Anyhooo, luved the movie and if I don't leave my office in a few minutes,
you all will be reading the entire movie script and I'll be late for an appointment.

Have a good evening all ~

Hi all,
Happy Sunday!!

"Scuttled Butt" - That's great!! Now I know the origin of the term...................

And, "donkey's dinner" - HoHoHo lol good one.

Here's one you will like - It's cold enough to "Freeze the balls off a brass monkey"
On the old ships the cannon balls were stacked in pyramids to keep them from rolling around the deck. The base of the pyramid was a piece of brass metal with indentations in it to hold the bottom layer of cannon balls - it was called the "brass monkey". When really cold weather came - the brass shrank more than the iron balls and the cannon balls rolled off the brass monkey. Thus the saying.

Good clickin all!!!

[to Norrington] I want you to know that I was rooting for you, mate. Know that. Elizabeth …it would never have worked between us, darling. I'm sorry. Will …nice hat. Friends! This is the day that you will always remember as the day that - [falls over battlement]

colorbook, thanks for posting the Monster Slash video link here at the rainforest thread. Bears can't vote, but we sure can.

Piffka, when the movie was first released I was at the threatre three times, then purchased a tape and cd. The comedy's priceless! <screenplay written by Terry Rossio and Ted Elliot >

Depp <in an interview> said he'd jump at the chance to play the character Jack Sparrow again. Barbosa's visitin' ole' Hobbs - and I couldn't imagine Jack's nemesis character not appearing in a sequel, but the first movie so hilarious, would be worth the price of the theatre ticket viewing a second Pirates of the Caribbean movie. Plus, Depp was mentioned at the last Academy Awards celebration for his portrayal of C'pn Sarrow. I'm such a fan, and was happy the Hollywood community finally gave him well deserved props.

Happy Halloween everyone ~

Stradee -- three times? I like Johnny Depp, too, but I guess I'm falling down as a fan. I only saw it once. Very Happy (And my black horse is named Pearl, so you know I liked the film's title!)

Mornin all,

Piffka,
'Pearl' sounds like a nice pony. My last one was a buckskin with two perfectly matched glass eyes. He handled like a cutting horse even though I never did that in a contest with him. A fiesty horse, but well behaved, he would slow-lope sideways - that part looked great during grand entries. That was my Scorpion.

colorbook,
Thanks for the link - I'm sure we are all signed with it.

Danon -- I remember you talking 'bout Scorpion. (Love that name!) I've always wanted a buckskin. Pearl had a full-sister who was a buckskin and I just couldn't see how I could buy her -- though I regret it now, maybe I could be riding that one. Pearl doesn't like to be ridden and has some awful tricks including lying down when somebody is on her. She DOES like to be fed and petted and rubbed down and scratched and offered treats and whenever she's in the backyard, she tries to figure out how to get her big old self onto the porch and possibly into the house where the rest of the dogs are. Very Happy But she weighs 1500 pounds and is smart enough to recognize that the porch won't hold her.
