Anyone who has served as a commissioned officer in the military knows that OERs and commendations are often exaggerated.

Having heroes and other high achievers in one's command is conducive to career advancement for the rating officer.

Excuse me, where is all the other documentation that should be with that paperwork? Like other personal accounts and such? Documentation , more than what was listed is needed to verify the events truely happened.

Also had you ever served you would see most officer get awards pumped up while enlisted get their awards downgraded by the same officers that are pumping themselves up.

Think about it if an officer gets a silver star his career looks good in a war. If a SGT award is down graded from a bronze star to an AAM then he looks like a dirt bag....

The officer doing the rating just helped himself to higher position since that other officer excelled under his watch....
