Interesting Info Regarding the "Coalition"

Well, Bush / Cheney has been pretty upset about Kerry dissin' the whole coalition - lack of a coalition in Iraq. Got pretty upset in the debate about forgetting the Iraqi's that have died. They are part of the coalition, right? So, it's not that the US has sustained 90% of the casualties... It's more like 50% when you count the Iraqi's according to Bush / Cheney.

So, where is the Iraqi coalition count?

US - 1100

UK - 68

* Other - Polish: 13

* Other - Danish: 1

* Other - Spanish: 11

* Other - Italian: 19

* Other - Ukrainian: 9

* Other - Bulgarian: 6

* Other - Thai: 2

* Other - Estonian: 1

* Other - Salvadoran: 1

* Other - Netherlands 2

* Other - Slovaks: 3

* Other - Latvian: 1

* Other - Hungarian: 1

Why isn't the DOD counting the Iraqi's then?

The coalition reportedly does not keep track of Iraqi casualties. That would mean trying to differentiate which bodies were loyalists and which were terrorists, which were insurgents and which were just guys trying to run makeshift taxi service. How many of those people at the market were actually firing and how many just happened to be reaching for the winter squash when the RPG went off??

It's too complicated and this administration and it's coalition don't do complicated.

Hey, Joe and DTOM!

Yeah, it would be difficult to count. I thought the same thing when it came up in the debate. How could you possibly know who to count?

But the "50% of casualties are US" does sound better than 90%. Bush / Cheney really wanted to use that 50% number.
