Ahh, it's so confusing!
Every year an independent tax watchdog group analyzes the average tax
burden on Americans, and then calculates the "Tax Freedom Day". This is the day after which the money you earn goes to you, not the government
This year, tax freedom day was April 11th. That's the earliest it has been
since 1991. It's latest day ever was May 2nd, which occurred in 2000.
Notice anything special about those dates?
Recently, John Kerry gave a speech in which he claimed Americans are
actually paying more taxes under Bush, despite the tax cuts. He gave no
explanation and provided no data for this claim.
Another interesting fact: Both George Bush and John Kerry are wealthy men. Bush owns only one home, his ranch in Texas. Kerry owns 4 mansions, all worth several million dollars. (His ski resort home in Idaho is an old barn brought over from Europe in pieces. Not your average A-frame).
Bush paid $250,000 in taxes this year; Kerry paid $90,000. Does that sound right? The man who wants to raise your taxes obviously has figured out a way to avoid paying his own.
At least 168 of the world's leading economists have said Bush's tax cuts are working and the recent Nobel prize winner in Economics has said they're working, but they're not enough.
Kerry's economic plan has been compared to that of ex-California gov Gray Davis.
'Nuff said.

Kerry has a better Repulican Accountant, maybe?

Kerry figured out how to avoid paying taxes the same way lots of other very rich people do. Actually, I'm not even sure how much of it was his doing. Most of what Kerry "owns" isn't actually his. The Forbes fortune was put into a trust that several dozen descendents have an interest in. The members can direct the trust to buy/sell property but the property bought is in the trust so there are no taxes paid on it by the individual members - the trust pays the taxes.
This Forbes trust owns an estate on Martha's Vinyard that dwarfs the Kennedy Estate but Kerry, while having full use of a house there that he calls his residence, doesn't pay anything on it himself.

I thought it was on Nantuckett!
Clinton had two terms in office -- good!
Two Bushs get one term (each) in office -- also good!
(If two Clintons get terms in office -- even better!)
