In this article kerry says:
"Kerry said the last time he heard from Reeve was on Saturday, when the actor left a message on his cellphone, enthused by the Massachusetts senator's decision to raise stem-cell research in Friday's second presidential debate."

Yet in this article it says:

"According to sources close to the actor, Reeve died Sunday. The actor fell into a coma on Thursday after going into cardiac arrest at his New York home."

Kerry is not telling the truth (I'm shocked).

He meant the Sat. BEFORE that.

A REALLY sick lie is telling America that it is in danger so that they would go to a war in a country that didn't attack us.

Are you 100% sure?

Actually, Iraq did attack us, repeatedly targeting our aircraft in the no-fly zones for 12 years.

"A REALLY sick lie is telling America that it is in danger so that they would go to a war in a country that didn't attack us."

And telling the troops they were doing this to protect the United States; what consolation is that to those who've lost loved ones in this prolonged war? And to pretend North Korea is harmless, and to give up the search for Osama (unless he's truly going to be the October Surprise...), and to do nothing for the environment, to ignore the signs of climate change, etc. etc. etc...

I'm not too impressed with John Kerry, but George Bush is a demonic idiot with illusions of grandeur.

Agreed, Cinn.

And no, Cjhsa, I don't know for sure any more than you do what day Kerry was refferring to.

Attacking OUR airplanes which are flying over THEIR country (I'm sure we dropped a bomb or three while we were there, dontcha think?) isn't the same thing as attacking OUR country. A child could see the difference.

I clicked, and yahoo said "document not found." What was the date of the speech when Kerry said that? And are you privy to how frequently Kerry checks the phone in question for messages? Confused

I tried to track down the first article cjhsa referred to (link doesn't work) and couldn't find it anywhere. In searching, though, found this:

Quote:
Saturday, Reeve entered the hospital, suffering from an infected bedsore. Just before he went in, however, he left a message on Sen. John Kerry's cell phone, expressing his delight that Kerry had invoked Reeve during the previous night's debate with President George W. Bush. A voter had asked about the ethics of embryonic stem cell research.

Here's the complete text from the second link:

Quote:
October 11th, 2004 - According to sources close to the actor, Reeve died Sunday. The actor fell into a coma after going into cardiac arrest at his New York home.

Reeve is best known for portraying "Superman" in the late 70s and 80s. He also wrote and directed programs for film and television.

In June of 1995, Reeve broke his neck after falling from a horse during a steeplechase race. He was left paralyzed from the accident.

In more recent years, Reeve became a strong advocate of spinal cord research. Reeve was just mentioned Friday in the second live Presidential debate as senator John Kerry spoke of stem cell research.

Reeve was 52.

Note, nothing about "Thursday".

Which blog are you getting this stuff, chjsa? Is it the same one? Doesn't seem very trustworthy... (Note, I'm assuming that you got this somewhere rather than fabricating it yourself...)

Of course he did get it somewhere.

It's how the conservatives DO information. They have a couple of imaginative liars locked up in a room, and then they just spread it all around and use each other as sources. After a while, it's impossible to tell where something came from...

Sometimes people even start to BELIEVE this crap...

It doesn't, cjhsa. (Might be a cache thing.)

Meanwhile, it's the SECOND link that is more problematic. That inserted and very important "Thursday."

I dunno, maybe they had "Thursday" and took it out because it was wrong. But it sure doesn't indicate anything as things stand.

I like the banter...

Conservative: "Kerry said this, this and this and then did these things. Here are some links"

Liberal: "BUSH IS A MORON!!! IRAQ WAS A MISTAKE!!!"

Conservative: Rolling Eyes

There's a blank space in cjha's link which keeps it from working. Just connect the black part of his url to the blue part of the url, like this:

http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/afp/20041011/ts_alt_afp/us_film_health_reeve_041011191325

Nothing about "Thursday" there either.

For some reason the link as posted would not work. It now works for me when posted within URL brackets, see "Click here".

The second article was edited and "Thursday" removed between the original posting and the current version.

McG, what I like is the thread action.

conservative thread starter: "Kerry said something really bad!"

kerry supporter or other: "No he didn't, and here's proof"

conservative starts a new thread: "Kerry is a sick bastard"

kerry supporter or other: "No he's not and here's why"

conservative starts a new thread....

I'd believe that it was removed, cjhsa. Kind of torpedoes the case, though.
