@ragnel,
You make the first person to eat an oyster sound like the epitome of good taste and judgement.

G'day jjorge

Welcome back. It's great to see you...wot Olga said! Cool

This is my thread - and I welcome digressions - absolutely no need to apologise!

Bit mean about Vegemite, though! Evil or Very Mad

@margo,
I have heard that if you take a container of vegemite, shape it into a block and dry it out in the sun, and then attach a fuse to it....... you can blow up a bridge!

PS Hi Margo! :-)

@jjorge,
Really? That's amazing!!!! Surprised Wink

I have discovered that Vegemite never goes "off"!
I've had the same small jar in my fridge for .. oh, 5 years?
Every now & then I do the sniff n taste test. Just to see. Good as new!
When the great flood, or whatever comes & we can't get any fresh food, Vegemite will save us! Very Happy

Is is similar to Marmite? If not, what is the difference? My granny always had that stuff on hand. I grew to crave it. Haven't had it years, I may have to procure a bottle soon.

@roger,
No it isn't, roger!
It's a HUGE hit of Vitamin B!
( Confused .. or something like that. I'll have to read the label again. Anyway it's a huge hit of something extremely beneficial, which is absolutely essential to good health! Very Happy )

Very similar, Ceili.
Though much superior, of course! Wink

(It's a good addition to soup stock, too. If you don't go overboard with the quantity used! Smile )

@roger,
A teaspoon or so will do wonders!
Adds brilliant colour to your stock, too! Wink

@msolga,
I had a glass of pineapple juice with my vegemite toast this morning.
Now I am discovering they do not travel well together.

@ragnel,
That's certainly an interesting & unusual combination of flavours, ragnel.
I'm trying to imagine it.
Perhaps just a plain old cup pf tea with it next time around?

@Rockhead,
Probably too much cinnamon, Rocky.
Or too much sugar, perhaps? Smile

I'm watching you lot being rude about Vegemite!

I have it with me in London now. It's helping me cope with the appalling weather!
