it looks like the administration got the result they wanted in australia, but the election in afghanistan is looking less promising, no violence but all but two of the canidates are screaming voter fraud and discounting the whole process
the election in the us will be over before iraq goes to the polls, but if the afghani election is s a complete disaster how do you think this will affect bush's credibility

I don't think it will have much affect on Bush's credibility at all. It was the UN who was in charge of the elections. Remember everyone has said they were good at it and it looks like they dropped the ball.
From what I have read about the issue, it looks as if all of the candidates have declared the elections a scam. I don't know if it is true or not but it seems like they are acting like a bunch of sore losers.
Both Bush and Cheney have trumpeted the joyous news of "Democratic elections in Afghanistan".
Rumsfeld went so far as to declare that "...flawed elections are better than no elections"(at all).
Such enthusiasm for flawed democracy is understandable, coming as it does from those who owe their jobs to Democracy's defects.
