Here are some panini (italian sandwiches) recipes -

They don't have to be grilled and served hot, are perfectly fine cold.

Lunchables suck and they're nasty. We like to eat real food at my house ;-)

I believe the purpose of Lunchables is for kids to bring them to school where they cannot cook or make something. At my daughter's school (private school), parents have to supply lunch and there is no where to heat anything up. I still do not allow my daughter to bring in Lunchables - although she has begged for these things. They just do not look healthy at all to me and not to mention, you can make a much healthier lunch for a quarter of the price.

I know I'm resurrecting an older post.. oops? heh

I used to eat Lunchables... call me crazy, but at the time I genuinely liked the taste Razz I'm sure they're quite unhealthy, but everything else I actually ate (at home, especially) wasn't very unhealthy at all.

It's a simple, convenient way for kids to have lunch at school, instead of buying an equally bland school cafeteria lunch. There aren't many choices, unless you have the time to cook/etc every night for your child.
(I would've been a horrible cook... I'm thankful that I didn't try it when I was younger, I was too careless about things like that Wink)

Hey! I like lunchables! The ones I occasionally get are basically just Ritz crackers, cheeze and ham.

People here are scoffing at "Lunchables", but a part of me tells me that each one did so while scoffing cheese on crackers...

it was my knee cap

Hmmm.

Thus spake deprivation... perhaps not calorically.

We do not appear to have lunchables in Australia.

Not a bad thing. They would most likely upset the ecosystem in your grocery aisles.

I think they're the same as Stackable's here.
Not great, not awful, handy for an emergency.
Round cracker, with matching round meat and cheese slices, and a Halloween size treat.

and they last a long long time

I've occasionally kept one in the trunk of the car. In case of a long, unexpected drive, where I might need to eat while driving.

well, plastic lasts forever you know.

And speaking of plastic, did you know that margarine is one molecule away from being plastic? That's why it doesn't go bad. Never seen moldy margarine, have you?
