Just to give Finn a little hope.

Before the 2000 election began, George W. brought together a large number of old compadres from the oil business and the baseball business and told them to go find him the best man to be his Vice President and he put a real go-getter guy in charge of the search. And boy oh boy did they search and search until the go-getter guy decided he had made his choice and he went to George and said "We got our man. Me."

That's right. The head of the VP search committee was none other than Dick Cheney so who else could they choose.??

Now here's the hope part: technically he wasn't "given a position" in the administration, he picked himself.
