wandeljw: Sorry to make you worry. I was extraordinarily busy for most of the summer, and have even less time now that school has resumed. I still browse now and again, but i restrict my posting for occassions when I think I can get somewhere.

Your observation that I wasn't particularly happy was somewhat correct; while I didn't have a problem with any of the posters, I was feeling somewat like I was banging my head against a wall; pretty much everyone has their ideas set, and while people were still receptive to new ideas, they never seemed to give them more than a cursory: "oh, that's an interesting new idea..."and after a few months of posting here, I realized that I did, too, so I'm also taking some time to decide how I want to fit back into the mold here and still feel productive.

Thanks for thinking of me, and I hope to hear from you soon.

Glad that you are back. It is good to be selective about posting. However, you are just short of 500 posts (thats when you get PM privileges). Frank Apisa would probably like to hear from you also.

I remember her from when I first started really getting into posting here.... and then she was gone, I just checked when her last post was and I think it was July 19th.... don't know her but I hope she is allright also

wandeljw: That's a good point, and I have been noticing myself wanting to post here more. I think I'll start posting again on a limited basis, and see where it goes from there. Plus, I have missed Frank's witticisms and the new perspectives other posters bring. thanks for talking me into it, wandel. I guess you'll be seeing more of me.

Wandeljw, pm's aren't automatic at 500. The mods (or whoever) vary the timing of access so that spammers can't just run up a bunch of posts and them spam via pm. This has been discussed somewhere on a2k, but I don't remember quite what threads.

Oss: That doesn't really matter to me: the only reason I'd use p.m.'s are to respond to people who've sent me p.m.'s, so It's really not that big a deal. Thanks for the info, though, and It's good to hear from you again.

I was just trying to curb a persistant misunderstanding - which I once shared. And I'm glad to see you back, for whatever time you can find to be here.
