(((Hi GW))

You know...I was working my tale off all spring and part of the summer till we moved. I had 100's of strawberry's planted, had planted no telling how many shrubs and trees/flowers (things I could reproduce/or would reproduce) in my own yard, had done some landscaping.......and Poof, walked off and left it to die in the summer heat of Arkansas. The funny thing is, my corkscrew willow trees lived, well ...most of the trees did, along with a few of the shrubs. (They did get some rain)

We still have our place there, but getting someone to go and water everything was not in the asking. Everyone has a busy life, so Yes, I cried over all my hard work, but I knew it was coming too..."N" had left for Auburn in Feb, so I planted to keep myself very busy....

It looked so pretty..... Crying or Very sad

I'm eyeballing this yard here, but with renting I don't want to put money into someone else's yard and then walk off to leave it later on down the road either....I figure I will do so anyways, nothing like pretty roses and shrubs to look at....

I haven't mentioned this yet, but I'm...umm, homeschooling the boys here. People around here think its for religous reasons.... Shocked but that wasn't behind my decision. So, I'm thinking this spring that it would be a great outdoor activity for the three of us to do, besides...they are great helpers!

Sorry you lost so much of your hardwork, but gardens are always a transient form of art.

Put those boys to work, even if it's small scale. You might leave a little legacy for the next tenant to enjoy.

You can always get large rocks, stack them up to make a short wall, and just put potted plants on one side, then build up the wall on the other side to make it look like a "planter" box
That way you dont have to dig and bury everything you want to see in your yard, but you dont have a potted garden look either..

Thats what I figured as well......it doesn't hurt to do something for someone else to enjoy...

I thought about that too. I don't know who built this house, they apparently didn't know a blasted thing about blue-prints or working a floor-plan out ahead of time, because its laid out funny. (sorta) Then, they built this deck on the back of the house with stairs off one side that lead up this steep hill and goes to no where......lol, just up the hill......no where.....and I mean...NO WHERE! LOL

Its quircky....so I thought about buying a ton of pots, and planting them up and using those stairs to no where for a flower garden. That way...I can carry them with me if we move from here. (which I want too)

Its a pretty house, but I just want to be more in the country than what we are...were actually outside of Auburn/Opelika area. The lady that showed us the house told us we'd be happy out here in the sticks! I laughed so hard at her, she doesn't know what sticks are. I'm 8 minutes from a Wal-Mart! Sticks??? Naaaaa.......in Arkansas I was 30-45 minutes from the closest Wally World...I was in the sticks.

Aww, newly married...seems I remember something about that now.

Lord Ellpus is likened to Gus to me, he's always good for a laugh, and Nimh...lol he's sweet.
