Let's privatize all

To our Daily Press:

“Democrats gird for health care battle under Trump” Nov. 16 harkens to my Nov. 2 Letter, “Pot, like alcohol, should be legal,” where I maintain that if pot were banned, then logically so should alcohol (tho I’d sure miss my evening brew). Now right-wing resistance notwithstanding, I’d vote for UC myself ‘cause I’m sure it would be cheaper and more readily available for everyone. But continued DOSM...

…clearly means that other “Universal” services such as Social Security and Fire Protection also must be privatized. Imagine their predicament when the Old Folks’ Home catches fire!

@dalehileman,
Boy, this "forum" sure is dead.

Socialism and capitalism have no "opposites". In fact, no economic system has an opposite in my scheme of things. But capitalism's powerhouse ability to develop productivity and technology eventually get fulfilled with an abundance of products and technology to enable us to develop anything we can think of. Then capitalism begins to feed on itself and the public as it is now doing. And at that point the only true solution is to switch to a system that does not have an inherent profit motive. The drive has to become providing production and technology for the people. Enter socialism.

@Senter,
