Here is a quick look at a few offhand falsities and twisted truths that Mikey liberally seasons his bigoted "documentary" (the humor is evident) with:
Mikey claims Bush tried to cut military pay by 33% - Since 2001 the Bush Administration has pushed increases in military pay every year by an average of 4.75%. I have received pay increases every year I have been enlisted. Combat pays - such as Hostile Fire Pay, Special Duty Pay (SF and spec ops compensation), etc - have risen in some cases almost double. (Hostile Fire 150 to 225, Special Duty 250 to 325). These are pay cuts, right?
Mikey makes a point that only one member of Congress has a child enlisted in the military in Iraq - Disingenious twist of truth. There are a large number of members of Congress who have children in the military, though they are commissioned officers. In other words Mikey wants you to believe that officers are not serving - at least not as much or as well as enlisted. I am enlisted, but I would have joined as an officer had the situation been different. I guess I would have been a moocher according to Mikey.
Mikey showcases a one Dr. Sam Kubba, from the American Iraqi Chamber of Commerce. Dr. Kubba is prominently shown declaring that the large American corporations have made "overwhelming profits" in Iraq. I would point out on fact that the most obvious and well-known profit generated from such debate is the much trumpeted revenue made off of Fahrenheit 9/11 by Mikey Moore.
Those are off-hand example of twisted truths. And this wannabe George Orwell (he even uses Orwell's terms in the ad), deliberately lied and spun to profit from his political ad. He knew the facts were skewed. But he is bigoted and motivated by money, attention, and desperate desire for a legacy of greatness.
Sorry Mikey, not Paine, though you are a bit of an itch.
