I know I would not be able to produce any satisfactory watercolor paintings without a Windsor Newton Series 7, Number 7 which is the basic watercolor brush and actually the only one most artists really need. Wet
the brush and it comes to a perfect point.
As to papers, I would be as suspicious of imports from the Orient as I am about halogen lamps. They are not sub-par on first look but on close examination they are second quality lamps. Will the purveyor of these paper certify to their acidity?
I's not changing from Arches anytime soon even though shopping it around doesn't do me much good -- the local Art Warehouse store always has a great price on that paper.
wiz-Arches has gotten a bit too yellowish for my present work, so Ive gone to the Kilimanjaro.

This thread looks like a paper chase to me.
Arches is available in bleached and unbleached cotton dirivation I believe. The unbleached will have a creamier appearance. Have never tried Kilimanjaro but will look for it at the art store. I've also used Strathmore.
I like the warmer, creamier coloured paper
