@Blickers,
It was way back when my younger brother graduated from med school with a debt of $8,000. When my nephew graduated from dental school, he owed $125,000. When I graduated from college, I had no debt, because I worked except my last quarter when my wife let me go full time, and she was an RN.
I really enjoyed my last quarter by participating in student government, and joining the frat, Delta Sigma Pi.
It was also the best of times for college grads. I had 4 job offers before I graduated, because I majored in Accounting. Went to work for Florsheim Shoe as Field Auditor traveling the seven western states with an expense account. After 3.5 years, the company promoted me to Audit Manager. Worked in management for the remainder of my career, and retired early.

@cicerone imposter,
Isn't that nice?

I take you as a person who made it and has revelled in that.

@ossobucotemp,
More than that, because I barely graduated from high school. Did deadend jobs for a couple of years, then volunteered into the US Air Force for four years. Nothing came easily.

Trump offered Christie his VP slot — then rescinded it
Source: NY Post

Donald Trump initially offered the vice-presidential running-mate slot to New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie but then withdrew it, sources said.

With a week to go before the GOP convention in July, Trump had not made his choice among Christie, Indiana Gov. Mike Pence and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich.

Most of his Trump’s advisers — including then-campaign chairman Paul Manafort and Trump’s two eldest sons, Donald Jr. and Eric — and GOP leaders pressured Trump to pick Pence.

They argued that Pence would unify the party and appeal to evangelical Christians who had not supported Trump in the primary.

“Trump cares about who’s the most loyal and who kisses his a– the most, not who’s the most qualified and what’s the best political decision,” said a source close to the campaign. “If it was up to him, it would have been Christie.”
Christie contacted Trump and made his final, impassioned appeal on July 12 .

Christie thinks he deserves it and he earned it,” a second Trump source said. Convinced, Trump made the offer.

@cicerone imposter,
You could be right. Either he is Trumps Attorney General or host of the afternoon drive time show on WFAN.

He will be great at either.

@woiyo,
Christie's under indictment. So in addition to your two possibilities above, there is also C-wearing a striped suit with extra wide pants and stamping out license plates.

@cicerone imposter,

Chistie bridgegate possible indictment:

Its inevitable whether he serves a day or not. He's a former Federal Attorney. He knows how to cop a plea. You can bet his attorney helped craft the charges he'll plead guilty to and receive a greatly reduced sentence. He'll write his book and receive all his retirements. He'll become a Fox expert.

@cicerone imposter,
He blew a real chance to be a President just to show off his power.
