Watching the debate last night, Bush says he will continue working with China and other Far East nations in confronting North Korea. He said he would work with African nations re Sudan. And he said he will not reinstate the draft.
Kerry said he will confront North Korea without any coalition. He said he would unilaterally send US troops into Africa. He said he will send US troops anywhere there is injustice in the world. He said he will increase the Army by two Divisions.
And he didn't say he wouldn't reinstate the draft.
If I was 18 and worried about the draft, I would campaign for Bush.....
That would be like a Jew campaigning for Hitler, think about your statement.
Kerry has stated all allong he wanted to increase the Army by 40K troops, listen and you'll understand.
So, was that before or after he voted against helping the troops?
K, when is the whole election over?

If there is a remake of 2000 many weeks after November 2nd, otherwise a few days later.
i would think that with all of the bush inspired testoserone flying all over the place these days, there'd be no need for a draft. why, isn't every young fellow just dying to camy up and go kill some tirrirists? and gals too??
but then, talk is cheap. or as we used to say in hollywood ( not the one that fox talks about, but the one that is down right grungy);
money talks. bullshit walks.
Bush is the wrong moron in the wrong place at the wrong time.
His administration has been a disaster both for this country and the world.
The next several presidents will be dealing with the mess these miscreants have bred...and it is my guess that history will record this administration as the beginning of a downslide our country will endure because of their incompetence.
Anyone campaigning for Bush in this election is doing a serious injustice to this country and to the world.
Interesting that the two liberal Democrat authors of the 2004 draft bill ended up voting against it.
If Kerry is elected, I'm sure they will once again push their draft bill, what with Kerry's plan to add two divisions to the army and his statements that the US will unilaterally become involved in any 'injustices' in the world.....
hey alv, how's things?
hate the idea and hate to say it, but the draft may well be needed to put a close on iraq.
i was against the iraq invasion from the moment i heard it, but the u.s. as a nation cannot afford to walk away from this and leave a complete $hit pile. there will come a day when we will need the help of old and new allies. we will get nothing if this is allowed to fail.
and kerry has not said that he would allow it to fail, via his plan to add to the military.
however, with guard and reserve re-ups and enlistments down at this point (as well as regular enlistments, i 've heard), there doesn't seem to be a viable alternative. and those guys are already stretched, and stressed, to the limit.
if you want to make an omelett, you have to break a few eggs.
too bad. alot of this alledged threat from saddam could have been handled by giving up the cheap illegal labor, closing and guarding the boarders, efficient control of legal immigration and alien residencies and most importantly;
alerting the coast guard to warn us of the approach of the mighty iraqi navy.
