I agree with timber that every viewpoint colors the information it gathers. However, information on the CIA is so hard to get by. Couldn't help posting it. How can we know whether it's good or bad? Trust the movies perhaps? Take their word for it?

In the end, everyone must do what he thinks is right for the world. My free tip: fighting a propagandist war will not work. Bribing will not work, killing will not work, lying is transparent. What to do? People are smarter than 50 years ago. I truly wonder whether the CIA has understood this. It was a great, righteous agency once.

Hey, blame the NYT for not revealing their sources, trespasser.

Do you honestly think that any self-respecting spook is going to be quoted for attribution, especially when he is critisizing the Agency?

For some reason this logic makes me think of the rationale associated with the pending invasion of Iraq: "We can't show you the proof of their WMD; it would reveal our intelligence..." DOH! Shocked Your intelligence is already revealed!

When a CIA'er does something good for the world (not lie for instance), I owe it to the agency to bring this to your attention.

This former CIA analyst, Stephen Pelletierre, gives his account of the US policy in this video lecture: http://members.cox.net/informationclearinghouse/pelletiereone28.rm

A must.
