Now I've been happy lately, thinking about the good things to come
And I believe it could be, something good has begun
Oh I've been smiling lately, dreaming about the world as one
And I believe it could be, some day it's going to come
Cause out on the edge of darkness, there rides a peace train
Oh peace train take this country, come take me home again
Now I've been smiling lately, thinking about the good things to come
And I believe it could be, something good has begun
Oh peace train sounding louder
Glide on the peace train
Come on now peace train
Yes, peace train holy roller
Everyone jump upon the peace train
Come on now peace train
Get your bags together, go bring your good friends too
Cause it's getting nearer, it soon will be with you
Now come and join the living, it's not so far from you
And it's getting nearer, soon it will all be true
Now I've been crying lately, thinking about the world as it is
Why must we go on hating, why can't we live in bliss
Cause out on the edge of darkness, there rides a peace train
Oh peace train take this country, come take me home again
I'm guessing that you've heard about Cat Stevens, dangerous individual?
I was going to say the same thing about that "dangerous" friend of the Ayatollah.
On the other hand - let's ask the question of how the "Tillerman" managed to continue to feel safe out there in the land of the vicious Persian.
I remember in Mr. Olmsted's Ancient History Class, thinking that Cyrus was really great!
I especially liked those swordlike projectiles coming out of the axles of the chariots.
The Shah was Russian Royalty. Was it a good riddance for good reason? Peter of Russia was not so Great.
Averill Harriman invented the modern Sleeping Compartment. The last time I took Amtrak up from Santa Barbara to Emeryville I met Willy Dixon's nephew Charles who was kind enough to lend me a harmony line on an original tune that he liked "Good People."
You wouldn't need a sleeper for that leg. But you can go all the way to Seattle on that train. And the sleepers are worth it for overnighters, and still a luxury that includes meals. The Coast Starlight goes through Gilroy. Go for the pasta with the roasted garlic! Tim Zagat would approve.
There's something about a train that's magic - provided someone doesn't blow it up or derail it.
I meant sword-like projections. Projectiles didn't come until later. And those weren't part of the axle.
Phew, thanks for the clarification.
