One of my fav political moments was when Joe Pine (the precursor to Rush, had a t.v. and radio show back in the 60's and one evening he had as a guest Frank Zappa.
Joe Pine had an artifical leg and Frank had rather long hair for the time so when Frank came on stage Joe said "I see you have long hair, are you a girl?" Frank responded without missing a beat "I see you have a wooden leg, are you a table?"
Oh God...I remember Joe Pine. I was a teenager when he was on TV. Didn't he mysteriously disappear or something in the desert? He was a trip. Those were the heyday of David Suskind, Dick Cavett. Remember that author Truman Capote? Terriffic writer...but what a fem...LOL
Hahaha!!!! That's a riot, lol!!!
I remember that.... another fond memory courtesy of Mr. Phi Zappa Krappa......he is missed.....
Truman Capote would have you begging for it, doglover.
She got ya Gus. Hee, hee.
I remember some shows where Joe Pine invited people on the show to discuss their activities, inventions, whatever. He would begin with a sentence like "That's the stupidest thing I ever heard of" then increase the attack until commercial break. I don't believe his 'victem' ever got much time to speak on their own behalf.
