Replacing Tom Hank's character Forrest Gump with Chuck Noland in "Cast Away".
Forrest Gump is in a plane crash and washes ashore on a deserted island where he meets Amelia Earhart. All kinds of marvelous things wash up making life on the island fun and luxurious. Eventually a shrimp boat arrives to rescue them. They return to civilization and live happily ever after.
I had a feeling you'd show up and I'm glad you did!

Gary Cooper's character in Friendly Persuasion takes the place of Will Kane in High Noon. Being a Quaker, like his lovely bride, they get out of town as quickly as the horse can take them in their buggy. Frank Miller comes to a quiet town and takes up his old ways, like before he went to prison.

I'll replace Alan Rickman as Professor Snape with Tybalt from Romeo and Juliet. Tybalt does not kill Mercutio. Romeo does not kill Tybalt. Juliet isn't forced to marry Count Paris. The love Romeo and Juliet have for each other convinces their families to see past their differences. The couple is happy until Tybalt organizes for Juliet to walk in on Romeo and a female servant in a compromising position. Juliet dies of grief. Romeo stabs himself in the heart, consumed by guilt. Everything is sad again.
