I really love this Freudian typo. Prey and BBQ are perfect together.

Technically, the dish is only referred to as the “pumpkin spice” lobster roll in a tongue-in-cheek email from a publicist for the restaurant — on the menu, the dish is called the sage lobster roll and features fresh lobster meat tossed in sage brown butter, topped with lightly fried butternut squash and served on a toasted roll.

if I could eat lobster I'd be all over this - because I worship sage brown butter and butternut squash together

Curry is not bar- b- cue.

We use P.E.T.A. bbq sauce (People Eating Tasty Animals) not a particle or bark hide in there not to mention allspice.
Now I looove apple pie but not on pork or beef ribs

Great question about flavors that are hot on the competition circuit right now…

I smell a lot of cinnamon coming from winning teams smokers. Any ideas on that? THANK YOU for your help.

I think the cinnamon you’re picking up is in the seasonings. I know I use a little in The BBQ Rub.

In small doses it goes well with smoked meat. I have judged some entries that tasted coated in Red Hot Candy and I can tell you that it wasn’t a pleasant experience. A little cinnamon can go along way.

That goes the same for All Spice. I notice it in popping up in some of the popular sauces on the market.

It’s another spice that can over power your pallet and judges can pick up on it quick.

With all you flavors and ingredients… Balance is the key!
his bbq rub is in here somewhere

looks like Kansas City and the competition circuit are the place you're most likely to find cinnamon in your bbq rub or sauce

@ehBeth,
Kansas City bbq must be related to Cincinnati chili which is all about the pumpkin pie spices.

That's not my post, and I would never add anything to lobster unless it's drawn butter. I don't like anything to disturb the natural flavor. But I do like to put a little sage in the dressing when I bake Turkey.

This photo isn't dated (let alone dated 2020) but pumpkin spice has already hit the market already.

@tsarstepan,
The weekend color grocery supplement in our newspaper has devoted two pages to the pumpkin spice "edibles". Talk about gag a maggot.

@farmerman,
we let an amish family use a small section one of our paddocks to grow pumpkins.(They pay us in neck pumpkins for homemade pies).
Their kids sell em. They have about an acre devoted to various pumpkins and crafting gourds .

@glitterbag,
As the weather changes and the purple house lights come down in favor of the white lights or multicolored, weve mad the seasonal transition to the PEPPERMINT SPICE SEASON.

I like peppermint spice because its a real thing, Pumpkin Spice is just the stuff you put in to flavor the pumpkin, just absent all pumpkin in yer coffee. Kinda gross,"Wanna chunka pumpkin in yer coffee maam??"

Why is it there's never a call for good old mincemeat?

Doesn't it rate a trip to the pedicure aisle?

Maaybe an interesting hair tonic...
