Jezebel, there's some tough choices this week. Not quite settled on a least 3 - particularly AZ --CAR

I think that will be a tough game. Carolina's coming off a bye, and are desperate to win. AZ's coming off a late Sunday overtime draw, AND is being forced to play an early game after traveling two time zones to the east.

WEEK #8 PICK REVIEW:
We are unanimous on two games (SD @ Den and Minn @ Chi). There are two (Wash @ Cinc and NE @ Buff) where the split is 18-1. Tico and Edgar were the naysayers. We rate two games as tossups (Det @ Hou; AZ @ Car).
Three of us agree with the majority of the non-tossup games on every match. Four players are out of step from the majority on three games.
Our consensus index this week is 81.

@realjohnboy,
Can I assume 81 is above our norm for consensus ?

@Ragman,
The index has barely changed each week, running between 81 and 84. I would have thought it would be higher this week because of the two 18-0 and two 17-1 games. But there were also the two tossup matches where the split was 11-8 and 10-9.

@realjohnboy,
Of course, with the correlation or consensus of us being so consistent with one another is that many (or most) of us have been consistently wrong.

@Ragman,
That's a funny line, Rags, and of course, true - I'm not sure I remember anyone over the years getting all the games correct. Maybe Cow doc, or Missus Cow doc, not sure.

@ossobucotemp,
I sort of recall one time one week either all or all except one. It might've been one of the Cow-Doc-Ian's.

Here is where we stand going into Monday night. Panzade and Jaumen will tie for the week so it will come down to the tie-breaker. If 41 or more points are scored tonight, Pan will win. 40 or less makes J a winner.

@George,
Your count is correct sir. I see how I messed up RJB (had him down for "DAR" instead of "CAR" in my spreadsheet and I have to be exact for it to tally. lol Must have been a total brain fart showing fbaezer taking Dallas since his picks make it clear he took Phil. Are you sure he didn't mean to take Dallas? lol

My totals are now corrected. Thanks.

I don't think he'd argue with that.

Good old Iggles. They never fail to disappoint.

Does the tie count? I think I have six, not counting the tie - but if Cincinnati counts, then seven:
Tenn
Oakland
New England
Kansas City
Denver
Dallas

We haven't been counting ties. At least I haven't.

@George,
Fine then: I hadn't paid attention. It does make sense not to count them.

Good set of games this time, relatively speaking.

@ossobucotemp,
My Patriots have a week 9 bye and then on week 10 play the Seahawks.

The poor Squawks have been screwed by the schedule makers. They will be
on a short week, having played the Bills on Monday night. Plus, they have
to fly coast to coast to play a well-rested Patriots team at home coming off
their bye week.

@George,
I like the Squawks, but am not optimistic, plus - though I'm not a characteristic Patriots fan - I don't mind them being such a great team.
Me, I'm getting somewhat optimistic re Oakland.

I hardly ever pick those Dallas faggots.
I won't pick them against Cleveland, either.

My daughter laughed when she told me she has never ever heard me say "the Dallas Cowboys" or "Vaqueros de Dallas". I always say "Putitos de Dallas", "Putos Vaqueros" or just "Putitos" ("Little Faggots").
