Why is the DNC running Kerry commercials in California!?!

Sitting at my computer, trying to keep up with various threads, and listening to the TV with half an ear waiting for info about the CBS announcement.

What do I hear? A commercial for Kerry, paid by the DNC.

Kerry is up by double digits in CA, even more in NorCal, where I live. Why is the DNC spending money on commercials they don't need?

Ironic, as I was reading a CBS story about the imploding Kerry campaign here:

Since (sadly) the state is not being contested by the GOP, it's probably cheaper than running it in say, Florida. Wink

Hey, they already shelled out for the ad. It would be a shame for it to go to waste.

Maybe the Kerry supporters feel more comfortable, "preaching to the choir"!

It might not be so strange. Was that the SF CBS station? If so, I think that's the station that DirectTV uses as their "West Coast CBS" feed. Any DirectTV subscriber that gets West Coast feeds would get it (as would all C-Band Sat. users).
