If caffeine causes mutations, is it cancerogenous? Majority of mutagenous substances increase chances to get malignant tumors.

I hadn't heard anything about caffeine and mutations. For all I know, it may cause notations. But I did hear it's found to be a principal cause of incontinence in old age, and consequently Caffeine Dependsency is on the rise.

I wonder, do you think having leeks frequently might be a natural remedy for this incontinence, malady Deb?

In a related survey, 17% of respondents selected heliotrope as their favorite flower.

roger, I must own to being in that minority, at least between Halloween and May Day. I reckon I'm your garden variety semiannual in that respect, relishing the minuscule warmth of sunny winter days, which certainly constitute a minority in these parts. And whereas it's supposed to be sunny and 42ยบ(F) tomorrow, I've placed my shorts and T-shirts on alert.

I knew there must be a digression thread on A2K. I have been reading the posts here and hoping the discussion would move past lost continents, that subject being too close to my heart and nether organs of department and defusement.

Right you are, Kara. Let's flee this continental drift and sailing o'er the boundering say, fetch the Ermal'd Isle. No man is an island and nary a woman neither, come to that, but I trow you come about as close to being one with Eire as any Mick who ever had the good fortune to fall in a ditch.

So tell me, in all your galleyventures round Connemara, County Cork and Ballyregions did you never come face to face with a foine brazen trake and whatever in the warald was it loike? I'm much aquiver to know how such stacks up again a hot-buttered ermal, especially when one has porthur taken ... whetted the wissle, so to spake.

Aye, Debacle, yur indeed kerrect that I am cheek-to-jewel wit that glorious land of deification and debilitation, that ould sod of sodomy and land of licentiousness, where every discussion includes the, uh, ejaculation of "Holy Jaysus!"

So as not to keep you a-quiver, I will report that I ordered up a wee plate of brazen trake on my most recent visit, and I'm honour bound to report that it was not food-of-the-gods but a rather earthy and comfort-station-food kinda meal. The mashed praties alongside distinguished themselves more than the piece-de-refulgence, whose slipperiness was indeed the most noticeable quality of this wetted and pulsing bonerus of indeterminate orga..uh, origin. I left the table unsatisfied, which may tell you all you need to know.

And has anyone any clue about dietetic value (non-saturated fats, vitamins, minerlals, dietary fiber) and dangers (saturated fats, cholesterol, sodium contents) of braise, ermal and funistrada? Should it be permitted to GIs to consume these meals, or should they be replaced with something more healthy?

steissd,

I hope you are taking the mickey.

If not, I would be concerned about our GI's appetites indeed, if they were to be satisfied with such and like.
