George W. Bush has devoted considerable lip service to his "values" and "character" as integral to strong leadership and the Presidency. Therefore, let's take a look at the Bush record by asking if a person of true values and courage would have acted thus:
1. Failed to condemn those at the RNC who publicly mocked the Purple Heart and all who wear it; 2. hid at the ranch from triple amputee Max Cleland who had a letter signed by 9 other war heros condemning the repeatedly discredited swift boat allegations; 3. failed to specifically condemn the discredited swift boat ads plus 527s; 4. failed to join Laura Bush in saying after Zell Miller's toxic tirade: "I don't think that he is one of us;" 5. acted like Helen Keller when the press asked his opinion of Cheney's ball-buster that a vote for Kerry is inviting terrorism; 6. failed to condemn the actions of those who tortured and sexually abused prisoners at Abu Ghraib; 7. failed to immediately excuse himself from the children's classroom on 9/11; 8. failed to lobby for an pressure legislators for an extension on the assault weapons ban supported by 68% of Americans and law enforcement; 9. immersed his convention with the memories of almost 3,000 people who didn't die for his candidacy or any political party; 10. claimed in a 1978 political ad that he was had been in the USAF and flying F-102s, a lie confirmed by the Air Force; 11. is pictured wearing a military ribbon (Air Force Outstanding Unit Award) that records indicate he never earned; 12. while Kerry was taking bullets in Vietnam, official records confirm Bush was suspended from the Texas ANG for various infractions...
It would appear that although both Bush and Kerry were born with silver spoons in their respective mouths, John Kerry is the only one with a backbone.
I think Governor Bush is confusing having character with being a characature.
Forgive the spelling: charicature.
