BUSH LEADERSHIP A "CATASTROPHIC SUCCESS"

Reply Thu 9 Sep, 2004 05:12 pm
Many regard G.W. Bush as a "strong leader." Comparison with "strong" Presidents (Washington, Lincoln, TR, FDR, Truman, JFK, and Reagan) shows that a majority served in the military, many in combat, and none went AWOL; war was a last resort and won with skillful restraint, and sensitive intelligence; each embraced and advanced science; none prostituted religion or a tragedy like 9/11 for political gain; war time Presidents enjoyed a robust economy of American made goods; none had a national convention highlighted by lies and hateful negativity, or led a juggernaut of political poison; none required apologists to untangle irrational phrases; none was pictured wearing an unearned military ribbon; none tolerated public mocking of the Purple Heart, and none permitted an aide to compare Americans to a 10 year old child.

Bush is clearly a droll, simple minded soul lacking vision and insight. A loose cannon, he led us into Iraqnam, and he spends your hard-earned money like a drunken sailor. His whoppers blaming job losses and skyrocketing health care costs on "junk" lawsuits insult common sense. Bush-Cheney did not protect us on 9/11, and their inactions may have contributed to the tragedy. They are not protecting us or serving us well now. The Bush leadership, to quote the President, has been a "catastrophic success."

"It is this simplicity that makes the uneducated more effective than the educated when addressing popular audiences." Aristotle (Rhetoric;II:22)

You know , as far as comparison to a recent president. Look at Mr Clinton, besides being smart, he looked like he enjoyed the presidency. He was a fun guy.
This dupa reminds me more of Barney Fife than any recent president..
Since youre recently delivered, might I suggest that you look at Brand X's avatar. WHen the time comes for you to choose one, make sure that you select, or create , one that has some dignity. That way, should you bestow on us some pearl of wisdom , you wont be dressed like some alien rabbit.

Just a thought.

You may want to keep in mind that self inflicted shrapnel isn't classified as a bullet.

Welcome, beauchallenger.

I'm one of many rabbits around here, but believe me, I am no relation to the one you have already met.

You'll find you are not alone here in your views or your level of frustration with the political situation. We do try not to yell at each other, though it is very tempting. Much easier to just realize you aren't going to change some minds, and you aren't going to get an intelligent debate from some either. You'll learn who soon enough.

Mean time, have a look around and take a break from politics in some of the other rooms if you find your blood pressure rising. There are plenty of decent, bright and funny folks here.

You might as well stop peddling that lie about Kerry, it is already dead, those wounds Kerry sustained were not self-inflicted, how ridiculous.

Truth is, Kerry was in the WAR, while bush was in the BAR, in Texas.

Barnd X is trained in the Karl rove school of campaigning "Go after the candidates strengths"
This is so obviously a Rove play , similar to the destructive disinformation campaign against sen McAin.

How would you classify Kerry as a Senator. That is the relavent "history" that needs to be considered.

Forget the fact that he went out of his way in Nam to get as many Purple Hearts as needed to get the heck out of "Dodge" in 4 months. Forget the fact he insulted EVERY vet by broadly painting every soldier as a "war criminal" .

Is it relavent to ask WHY he missed over 70% of the Intelligence Meeting on the committee he sat on?

Is it relavent to ask WHY he voted against Gulf 1, against weapons systems, FOR "legalization" of undocumented aliens, etc...?

Is it relavant to review GW's time in office?

The continual infatuation with irrelavent issues by the respective campaigns and their partisens will not sway the objective and independant voter. The continual infatuation by the major media outlets of these irrelevant issues just might sway the independant to the incumbant.

The continual blathering of the Anti-Bush crowd, in my opinion, will back fire and lead to the re-election of GW.

on D-Day, when Ike was asked how it was going he replied "things are more like today than they have ever been before."
When Bush was asked how the war on terrorism was going he replied, My adminstration has banned french fries from the White House.
things are even more like they are today than they have ever been before.
Progress is our most importent product.

Even Kerry's campaign admitted that his first PH wound 'might have been self inflicted', when they say 'might' it's like Cheney saying he 'probably' used the 'F' word, take it as a yes.

And the Xmas in Cambodia story has also been admitted by the campaign as wrong.
