Historian Richard Weikart wrote ABOUT the influence of Social Darwinism on German militarism in the years leading up to World War I. World War II was the result of the Third Reich in IMPLANTING it's theology. Is this theology dangerous to mankind's existence has America becomes godless? Can it be the end of mankind as we know it?

@Expert2,
Godlessness has nothing to do with Social Darwinism. There are lots of religious people that supported Eugenics, and there are lots of atheists who rejected it. That was 100 years ago.

Although Racialist theories were fairly common in public discourse 100 years ago, they were soundly rejected. Today, most Americans reject them and find them offensive.

I think you and I agree that America is becoming more godless (although I think it is a good thing, and you seem to think it is a problem). But one thing is certain, as America becomes more godless... our views on racial equality have been improving quite a bit.

@maxdancona,
That's true; religion in America is on the decline. I also think that's a good thing.
The hate taught by religion is dangerous to all.

@Expert2,
The Reichfuhers's main obsession was with the godless society that did exist in the 8th century. This lala land has been polluted ever since with Jewry-Salvic and more than a dozen others had to be purified by removal of their physical infectious persons.
This was not Social Darwinism per say as political nomenclature (Nomenklatur) became distinctly a barrier to whom belonged-and more importantly whom didn't belong.
The Reich never got anywhere close to implementing this nonsense as the Catholic Church became a huge part of what bonded the commoners who found this schizo/primordial claptrap disgusting.
The Third Reich was not a godless society even in the extremist view point. They never really had the time or the want for this and it comes from bored people watching to much television 'documentaries' or whatever.
After the debacle at the gates of Moscow all this stuff went down the toiletbowl.
There was no 'theology' to implant. You could call Premier Stalin's regime 'Godless' however Mother Russia had 30 million practicing Catholics-just like the Reich had.
There aren't any 'Godless' societies to compare it with.
The ending of 'Mankind" will be a physical event just as it has been for 100's of millions of years. Most likely Yellowstone.

@Expert2,
Interestingly, the term "Second Reich" is mainly (in German speaking countries ONLY) used by Nazis in their propaganda.

Gerwin Strobl, reviewed Hitler's Ethic in European History Quarterly, writing the introduction "reads like a mixture of a television voiceover and the worst kind of undergraduate essay" .

@cicerone imposter,
It is not just religion which is dangerous, but politics. Dictators and the way they treat their enemies has as a rule never had anything to do with religion, but power and politics.
Religion the way you see it, is on decline, but many people seek spiritualism, meditation and other mind and soul comforts. Things that religion also has done.
How much of religions teaches hate and how much teaches help the sick and suffering? Of the five large religions just a small percentage preaches and teaches hate.

What do you mean?
You generelize and say religion teach hate. Do you really think every form for religion will disappear? Different types of religion comes and goes.
Isn´t that what politics also can do - preach hate? Go back just 100 years and there has been much more political hate than religious hate.
Government has come and gone again. Just take out a map and see what has happened over the last 100 years.

@saab,
I didn't say religion will disappear; it's in decline.
Religion has been responsible for many wars and deaths. That's proof positive it teaches hate.

@cicerone imposter,
There are several thousands of different religions in this world and one of all these is Christianity.
A religious Christian war has not occured for centuries as far as I can remember.
Politics has been responsible for many more wars and deaths. It that a proof positive that politics teaches hate?
Real religous wars
Crusades in the Holy Land Muslims and Christians 1095 - 1291
French war of religion between Protestants and Catholics France 1562 - 1598
Thirty year war between Protestants and Catholics 1618 - 1648
Lebanese Civil War Lebanon between Sinni Muslims, Shiites, Jews, Druze and Christians 1975 - 1990
2nd Sudan Civil War in Sudan 1983 - 2000 Muslim and Christians
The Croatian War (1991–95) and Bosnian War (1992–95), have been viewed of
as religious wars between the Orthodox, Catholic and Muslim populations of former Yugoslavia, that is, Serbs, Croats and Bosniaks.
Think about all the none religous wars which have occured. WWI and WWII
all the wars within Europe which had nothing to do with religion.
Religion does not teach nor preach hate as a rule. On the contrary Christianity teaches to love and to care about others.

@cicerone imposter,
I have search the internet for more information about those two guys and did
not find anything. So great experts they can´t be. Then there would have been plenty about them
Sounds more like people who are against the Catholic church than anything else.
What about all the Christians and Catholics who fought against Hitler? Also they had been listening to the teaching of the Church.

@saab,
OK, number two sounds more serious, but number one ...no
People were anti Semetic and not only Christians, but also Atheists or people who did not care about religion.
Racist you can be no matter what kind of beliefs you have.
