These are the "folks" Kerry seeks permission regarding our defense?

While this may not have been "sanctioned" by the respective governments, I find this curious when you also consider corrupt "UN Oil for FOOD PROGRAM" included people from these same nations.

And to think that Russia is pretending to be an ally in the War on Terror. I say we make the EU and Russia into one big glass parking lot. I mean, what's the point of having nukes if you're not going to drop'em.

Laughing

(edit)
Maybe we can find a way to connect Belarus and the Ukraine to terrorism...

Is Poland in the EU? If not, I'm sure we will find a way to connect them as well.

as of last night;

1129 coalition soldiers killed in iraq.
1003 of which were american g.i.s

but it's a coalition.

not belittling the deaths of the other country's soldiers. just noting that the u.s. is taking most of the hit on life and treasure (as they say).

Walter, I think maybe my post was not obviously sarcastic enough. I didn't think the subject of this thread was worth responding seriously too. I hope you didn't get the impression that I was serious.

If it were coming from a credible source, I would see it as serious. It is an article about a book written by a Washington Times (Sun Young Moon's paper) reporter. The allegations are almost all innuendo. If there were any proof of these things it would have been reported by a credible source. So no, at present, this does not seem like a serious subject to me.

The world really should pay more attention to this book:

Quote:
Bill Gertz reveals top-secret and secret documents on illicit weapons transfers to Iran and other rogue states,.
...
The U.S. government is said to be livid and has threatened to prosecute Gertz for disclosing secrets, even though he agreed to withhold numerous pages at the request of the CIA.
...
Top-secret CIA special analysis show ... that nations like France, Russia, China and Germany are supplying the rogue states of the world - North Korea, Iran, Syria - with deadly arms.

I couldn't find any news of other countries besides the UK and Australia that joined the USA invading Iraq.

According to (open) sources, Spain sent its first troops to Iraq on the last days of December 2003.
Poland sent its first troops on August, 1, 2003 to Iraq. These Polish troops were joined by Ukrainian troops and those from Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania and Latvia, and from Slovakia and Lithuania.

The first 35 Italian Italian arrived in Basra on June 10, 2003.

However, I may be wrong.

or you could be right. no doubt in my mind who pushed for it.

u.k. & australia. probably.

it doesn't look like very much has changed since i last looked at global security.

but does that mean that we agree that about 90% of the burden is held by u.s. forces?

Not sure about the percentage, but that might be okay.
