When you vote should you receive a receipt as if you made a purchase?

As the title reads When you vote should you receive a receipt as if you made a purchase?

Would this help to show if there is voter fraud?

@reasoning logic,
Would the receipt show who you voted for? Because that would increase fraud.

@reasoning logic,
Let's go out to the street and pay $20 for a Trump vote.

I will only have sex with you if you show me you voted for Hillary.

If you don't give me a receipt for a Hillary vote, you are fired.

Do you see the problem?

There should be such a slip of paper, dropped in a locked box in view of the polling workers, before the voter leaves, to be used to verify in the event a recount is called for. I have always wondered why the public does not demand something like this.

@reasoning logic,
If the boss of a company fired anyone who didn't produce a receipt that showed they voted for Trump. You don't see a problem with that.

If I paid people on the street $20 if they showed me a receipt that the voted for Hillary. You don't see a problem with that?

If my spouse beats me up if I didn't bring home a receipt that I voted for Hillary.... you don't see a problem with that?

Any of these examples are things that I would consider voter fraud. You don't see it that way?

@edgarblythe,
We already have that Edgar.

When I vote here in Massachusetts, we use an optical scanner. I mark the ballot by filling in little ovals with a marker. Then the sheet is run through the machine and then stored for future counting.

@maxdancona,
I am calling for uniformity in all precincts, nationwide. Only some votes are counted that way. Here is what we have in Texas and many other places.

http://votingmachines.procon.org/
Originally developed in the 1970s, direct recording electronic (DRE) voting machines have become increasingly used nationwide. After the 2000 US presidential election's troubles with "pregnant” and "hanging” chads and the subsequent passage of the 2002 Help America Vote Act which swelled use of DREs, electronic voting technology became widely debated.

Proponents argue that electronic voting machines are secure, able to unambiguously capture the intent of a voter, capable of preventing residual votes, reliable, easy to use, calculate and report voting results faster, and are accessible to disabled, illiterate, and non-English speaking voters.

Opponents of electronic voting machines argue that DREs give too much power over public elections to their private manufacturers, are vulnerable to hacking and other forms of tampering, do not allow for meaningful audits and recounts, and do not offer voters a trustworthy way to verify their votes.

@reasoning logic,
You should receive an 'idiot' award for believing your vote has some weight toward the prescription-outcome.
