Can we install 20amp cooktop on a outlet with 12-2 Romex wire?

This cook top Edit [Moderator]: Link removed requires 120v / 20Amps. Can I use the outlet that is already there which is using 12-2 Romex wire that has 20amp rating. Is there any risk of this wire heating up / catching fire when we use this cook top? thanks.

@uppuluri,
Yes, you can use that wiring. You also need to check the breaker size in the breaker panel to make sure you have a 20A breaker.
