Am I correct that President Bush said that he thinks of himself as the father and us as his children?
If he did say that, am I the only one who is insulted?
I did not hear that, but if he said it, I would consider it an inappropriately patronizing and condescending remark.
Didn't anyone tell Bush that it is the Democrats who want to play, "big daddy"?
Richard Nixon said something like this after his second election in 1972. There was an immediate reaction to, as Phoenix put it, a patronizing and condescending remark, and Nixon never said it again. Given the Nixon hullabaloo I would be surprised if any other president would be so foolish as to repeat the remark.
Father? Children?
Well, Aquiunk - has W yet been known to learn from history?
I heard this the other day and posted about it at the following link:

Oh, just the thought makes me want to throw up!
I guess he thinks he's God.
Foolish, did someone say foolish. Yes, Bush certainly is dumb enough. err foolish.

That's the scariest thing of all!
Or if he's not God, he is sure he has a direct pipeline. . .
