Hah, one of my favorites. I like salon too, though you need a subscription to read the feature articles.
forgot about the onion...excellent
I checked onion, that is a riot. I forgot to mention NYT. "freenyt" in both spaces gets you past their registration page.
Shaggy:
You can also download a program called "BugMeNot" that does the same thing.
And I'd be amiss if I failed to mention
http://www.buzzflash.com and
http://www.commondreams.org
http://www.aldaily.com/
More diverse than merely politics, but links to many news sites and links to in depth pieces on topical matters. The web's best site, in my consideration.
NeoGuin, thanks for the suggestion of bugmenot and for posting links to the left hand skinny end of the bell curve. They almost don't qualify as "news" even with quotation marks.
Oh, right, but drudge and townhall do?
Your partisanship is showing.
Cycloptichorn
Drudge? Haven't his 15 minutes of fame run out by now?
Yeah, but he pre-paid for some extra bandwidth and is trying to finish it up before he quits.
Cycloptichorn
Cycloptichorn, your equating Drudge, which is 99% links, as many liberal as conservative btw, to the drooling blather of the other two shows your bent. Which is ok, we all bend one way or the other.
Show me something as vitriolic on Townhall as this:
"GOP Gets Deeper Into the Sewer With Slime Attacks as NYC Performance Opens for the Pro-Republican Media"
The best way to lose an election is to get wrapped up in one's own message and believe that it is the majority view. That is a lot of Kerry's problem. The love fest he has been part of in Mass. has warped his so called vision. Only a spoiled egotist could expect that his early seventies ride to fame on the back of slandered veterans would sit well with those vets, especially after that hokey salute at the convention and his references to Vietnam when asked about anything, from pets to gas milage.
It could be even worse for Shaggy (Busheep)Dog?
A visit to
http://www.yellowtimes.org will lead to hysterics I'm sure.
My problem with Druge isn't that he's overly conservative or liberal. It's that he's sensationalistic, and reports rumors as facts.
Cycloptichorn
Cyc, Drudge has made some big swings and misses, for instance the Kerry extra marital affair. But I am always amazed that liberals can't stand to look at it, much less read it. Whatcha worried about?
shaggy
Drudge isn't passed up just by liberals, and I suspect many look it. It is passed up by people on either side who understand that such lousy, uncareful journalism makes the site as worthy of our time as The National Enquirer.
What's the point of a news source that is wrong so often? Even a broken clock is accurate twice a day...

I am going to ask my buddy Jayson Blair about this and get right back to you.
