@Andy rocco,
you realize that very very few pieces of art are identifiable just by their titles?
you do dont you?
@Andy rocco,
What picture? What art monthly? There are many art monthlies.
If you bought it from an art monthly, why don't you ask them? We can't see it. Did you save the receipt?
Take a phot0? add it to a2k via a photo posting site like photobucket or imgur (there are others as well). Those kind of photo sites give instructions on how to share the photos.
@Andy rocco,
Type "Sigmar Polke" with quotes into Google.
Hit the "images" button on the top of the page.
Find painting.
Its self identified and you seem to know its history and where it came from. What exactly are you looking for? Confirmation? Go back to the magazine and start with them.
@farmerman,
I've posted photos now ,sorry ime still a techno retard
@ossobuco,
Photos now posted ,what it was is I seen the picture in art monthly that I was flicking through in a charity shop and remember it was from the late 90 s ,anyhow 2 years or so later I seen the exact picture in another charity shop ,so I bought it
@bobsal u1553115,
Conformation and the magazine it appeared in
@Andy rocco,
Ah. Are you in the US? If so and you look up art monthlies, you may remember the name, and then can research the work through their index.
@ossobuco,
Adds, at first I thought you saw the photo for sale as a print in the art monthly, not that that is likely, but I'm not up on who is selling prints these days.... and then saw the piece in a thrift shop a couple of years later. Still, if you can find the article, it should be useful for you to learn about the painting.
@ossobuco,
I can't remember the name of the artist in the magazine just roughly the year but all searches I do head back to sigma polke which would make the picture very valuable
@Andy rocco,
Its a print, its got the scrqtchiness of a drypoit and that "Mark Rothko" color look of a monoprint on very wet paper. Its nice. If SIGMAR Polke is a well known artist in his country, I guess itll have some value.
@Andy rocco,
By the way I'm in Liverpool area
@farmerman,
I see what you think ,there very similar ,I'll search through his work
@Andy rocco,
The Royal Museum is a very good resource.
