What hppened when the mods were laid off, was that "the inmates took over the asylum". And they brought over all their friends.
One of the biggest problems with Abuzz was the ability of another member to hijack anothers' name. After awhile it was difficult to keep track of who was whom.

If Abuzz had been moderated like "in the good old days", I doubt that A2K had been running in the way it is now ....
well,yes.
Abuzz was even the prime example.
As long as NYTD wouldn't put financial resources into it, it was a questionable entity.

Didn't I just say that?
Ah yes, the good old abuzz was a real gem of a board. I wish I could go and save some of the science threads and the gardening advice and , especially, the art threads. This laptop doesnt have a full suite of support programs. It is loaded with correll stuff, I suppose I could go aand copy into wordperfect or some notepad.
Gee, Im sorry to see that ci is gone. I hope that a2k has a "time served" and penance option. Id like to see him back. I cant even imagine him getting rowdy.
God, Ive been passed by Ratzenhofer in n umber of postings. I suddenly dont feel so old, hes a real fossil aint he? at least I can eat an apple without using a blender

joe
Does this mean that
Frank might possibly consider coming back here?
Frank Apisa was a a2k member? Why he goes away?
frank left for religious reasons.

more like "religious seasons"!
Moderators are resented when present, but the absence of moderators is bemoaned and lamented.
Abuzz turned into a wild and lawless cyber frontier with the die-hard residents making a virtue of necessity by celebrating the free-wheeling atmosphere.
I think on A2K the moderators are frequently baited and double-dared and challenged, not because the TOS are so onerous, just because the TOS exist.
I march to my own drummer; you are uninhibited; s/he is vulgar.
RIP Abuzz, a noble experiment.

Frank still IS a member, and he joined on the very same day as I did (as member No. 40)
well,yep.
but not number 40,
you are member no. 45
Frank Apisa is member no. 46
wow, there is short space between. :-)
[You must have got another list than I can see: 45-JerryR, 46-Setanta here.]
Had a beer on the boat with Frank last week, he said I should tell ya'll he'll be back in the fall. He misses everyone. Everyone. Every... well, most of ya'll anyway.
Who has a guess on how many buzzards will come here?
Joe
Seems to be easier to say that quite some wont stay here long than to guess, how many it actually will be
My first post on Abuzz was about tomatoes.
