I never considered him to be a person who would/go back on his promise and/then do not even apologise.
What's error in this sentence. Please explain in detail.
@devender,
I never considered him to be a person who would/go back on his promise and/then
do not even
apologise. Spelled apologize.
Leave out 'do' and correct spelling of apologize.
Apologize is the North American spelling.
Apologise is the spelling used by native English speakers from outside North America--England, Australia, New Zealand, etc.
Set, my uncle Hendrik says "Don't forget South Africa!"
@roger,
To seek favour you must apologise - else your face will change colour.
@Tes yeux noirs,
South Africa, Belize, Guyana and a few others fell under the rubric "etc." in my post.
You could use the verb "do," but if you did, not only would it sound awkward to a native speaker, but you would not have correctly conjugated the verb, which must agree in person and number: ". . . and then does not even apologize." Leaving "do" out is a stylistic matter, but it is also a matter of the habitual usage of native speakers.
@devender,
Apologize, here in my part of the world (UK).
s is used in the past tense.
Apologised.
@Lordyaswas,
Lordy, that's not right. UK spelling is -ise for all tenses. American spelling is -ize for all tenses.
