@newmoonnewmoon,
There are many levels of suffering from many different causes. Some are genetics, some are environmental, some are lifestyle, and some are based on one's diet. Nut'n to do with any god.

Odd that you seem to have forgotten one of the major causes of suffering in the world, CI. One that has deeply affected hundreds of millions of innocent people over multiple generations.

@cicerone imposter,
God says whether we should suffer or not.

How much we should suffer..

What we should suffer to learn what we need to learn.

Now if we suffer and dont learn it is our own ignorance we choose to make ourselves suffer.

@SawyerMentink,
Life, as you know, is not going to be a smooth, perfect ride. There will be hard times. And God knows this. The whole point of your trials is to be able to grow from them and to become humble. If you seek for his help, Heavenly Father will help you get through.

@newmoonnewmoon,
The ignorance is believing god controls suffering or anything else. The world flood should be the clue.

@cicerone imposter,

The date of Jesus' birth date is not important: he's a fictional character created like other god's in many countries during different periods. India has created thousands of god's. How many god's does humans need?

John 17:3 says: "And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent." The only true God created Heaven and Earth. Jesus Christ was born by the Blessed Virgin Mary. Isaiah, about 700 years before, prophesied His coming. Isaiah 7:14 states: "Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign: Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel."

So, I tell you that you have to change your belief now for God is reducing people. If you were to believe in a god, be sure that He is the true God.

Must God allow suffering or control us like robots without a free will?

@kk4mds,
I don't know what your religion is, and really don't care. All my siblings are christians, and I'm an atheist married to a buddhist.
The christian religion has too many errors, omissions and contradictions for me to logically believe in it.
#1: According to the bible, the earth is 7,000 years old. According to science, the earth is 4.5 billion years old.
#2: Thou shalt not kill, but you must kill if you meet unbelievers of me.
#3: If god is so loving, why did he create hell?
#4: Who created god?
#5: Why was the christian god created only 2000 years ago?
#6: Is there a problem with human evolution?
#7: Science proves there never has been a world flood.
#8: It was impossible for Noah to have visited all around the world to collect all the insects, animals, and vegetation to load on his ark.

@SawyerMentink,
How many people can you name that is suffering in the ways you are trying to get across? How many of them have you formally met and seen with your own eyes? How many people in your life do you know 'suffers' to the point of 'no hope'??? Many people 'suffer' trying to keep up with rent payments.. Many people 'suffer' because their children are addicted to drugs.. Many people 'suffer' because their children prefer to do that which is wrong and refuses to do that which is right.. So why does God allow these children to oppress their parents in the way they do? I don't know.. I guess God is NOT good, then....

@daverod,
You need to read more about famine and world starvation. It's not a matter of personally meeting people who are suffering or have died from some kind of catastrophe.

#1 - Cite to me in the Holy Bible that the earth is 7,000 years old. That is the age of present man, according to Judaism.
#2 - "Thou shalt not kill." That is the Christian teaching in Exodus 20:13. Kill unbelievers is a teaching of the Muslim faith. It is not Christian.

If you were to believe in a god, be sure that He is the true God (John 17:3).

@peacecrusader888,
Deuteronomy 17
If there be found among you, within any of thy gates which the LORD thy God giveth thee, man or woman, that hath wrought wickedness in the sight of the LORD thy God, in transgressing his covenant; 17:3 And hath gone and served other gods, and worshipped them, either the sun, or moon, or any of the host of heaven, which I have not commanded; 17:4 And it be told thee, and thou hast heard of it, and enquired diligently, and, behold, it be true, and the thing certain, that such abomination is wrought in Israel; 17:5 Then shalt thou bring forth that man or that woman, which have committed that wicked thing, unto thy gates, even that man or that woman, and shalt stone them with stones, till they die.
Or Deuteronomy 13:
6 If your very own brother, or your son or daughter, or the wife you love, or your closest friend secretly entices you, saying, “Let us go and worship other gods” (gods that neither you nor your ancestors have known, 7 gods of the peoples around you, whether near or far, from one end of the land to the other), 8 do not yield to them or listen to them. Show them no pity. Do not spare them or shield them. 9 You must certainly put them to death. Your hand must be the first in putting them to death, and then the hands of all the people. 10 Stone them to death, because they tried to turn you away from the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. 11 Then all Israel will hear and be afraid, and no one among you will do such an evil thing again.
12 If you hear it said about one of the towns the Lord your God is giving you to live in 13 that troublemakers have arisen among you and have led the people of their town astray, saying, “Let us go and worship other gods” (gods you have not known), 14 then you must inquire, probe and investigate it thoroughly. And if it is true and it has been proved that this detestable thing has been done among you, 15 you must certainly put to the sword all who live in that town. You must destroy it completely, both its people and its livestock. 16 You are to gather all the plunder of the town into the middle of the public square and completely burn the town and all its plunder as a whole burnt offering to the Lord your God. That town is to remain a ruin forever, never to be rebuilt.
Or Numbers 31, where God commands the Israelites to attack Midian and kill all the men, all the married women and all the male children but to keep the virgin females as the spoils of war and distribute them among the soldiers. The reason offered for that barbarism? Two Midianite women had allegedly “tempted” two Israelite men to worship other gods.
