I get it, I think.

Piff, it's one of those things where there's no way you could actually expect to get it at the beginning, but the clues pile up and then you can start putting things together, gradually. Like 20 questions or something. By the time you find out if it's even animal, vegetable, or mineral you might have wasted three questions. But then down the line you know that it's animal, smaller than a car, bigger than a grocery bag, not black, lives in Africa... etc.

Yeah, and CMIIW, but the murder doesn't actually happen in a thread.

Catchy idea, Soz. I'd certainly buy it. What would you call it? Perhaps you should get a focus group to decide, although I'm betting that they'll offer 'Gone with the Falling Capybaras' more than once.

Jespah
Jespah, one of your method of dying clues is: [7]victim dies during an act of intimate passion.

NELSON A. ROCKEFELLER (1908 - 1979), U.S. vice-president

Official details of Rockefeller's death changed repeatedly in the days following his fatal heart attack on January 26, 1979. The first report indicated Rockefeller was with his 25-year-old aide Megan Marshack when he collapsed in his Manhattan townhouse at 11:15 P.M. Marshack was said to have immediately placed an emergency medical call. But days later it was announced that the former vice-president had succumbed an hour earlier, at 10:15 P.M., and that Marshack, instead of calling paramedics, had called her friend, Ponchita Pierce. It was Pierce who had called for assistance. The family doctor believed Rockefeller had died instantaneously, but why did two women let an hour pass before calling for help? The Rockefeller family did not wish to pursue the matter and would not consent to an autopsy.

I know several books have been written about the Rockefellers including the death of Nelson Rockfeller. The Life of Nelson A. Rockefeller: Worlds to Conquer 1908-1958 by Cary Reich is but one of them.

Jespah, is the manner of death of Nelson Rockefeller during intercourse with his lover one of your clues?

Oh gosh, I just got another readout from the clue computer and I'm afraid it's in rhyming mode. So, here goes -

The forum might have a pan
The killer isn't a man
The weapon has no feet
The victim's love is sweet
Now follow the trail if you can

PS Some incorrect guess pieces, some correct, your methods of reasoning are sound.
PPS For the Zodiac hint, you might want to check the member list.

Could it be me, BBB? I post a lot on the food and drink threads. I also drive everyone nuts with long posts.

Great Game, Jespah!!

um... so, is the Clue Computer saying that the Killer has less than a thousand posts????

There were quite a few women in the Scorpio section of the Members List...... hmmmmm......

I need to go back and write down all the clues..... one page for each thing that needs to be solved.....

So, in order to get the Clue Computer to spit out another clue, we need to make a serious guess???

um, so, if the Victim is Setanta.... and "his love is sweet"..... that would be ehBeth???

hmmmmm...... has Sugar been dating someone from A2K, who posts lots of long messages???

hmmmmm...... a book was written about something without feet.... something lukewarm.....

I think we need more clues...... does the Clues Computer take bribes???

The clue computer needs to think up more rhymes.

Oops, I think I just gave away a trade secret.

Ah, I've heard from the clue computer, which is stuck in rhyming mode:

Seven letters in the victim's name
The killer's? Why, she has the same
The forum speaks of stuff that's pretty
and found in nearly every city
The weapon has both Abuzz and A2K fame
