Going to Hawaii later this month (three full days each on Maui and Hawaii) with the family and I'm looking for some good ideas. I have the kids (aged 13-21) scouring the Internet for suggestions, but if any of you have a particularly good insight to share, I'd appreciate it.
@engineer,
Helicopter tour of the Islands. Otherwise do the drab rent-a-car and drive around. Ocean is kind of rough right now. Big surf. Always great food choices at restaurants.
@engineer,
Ok, we've scheduled Maui, still working on Hawaii. Has anyone done the helicopter tour? Is it worth it? Lots of dollars. I'm not particularly cheap, but I do want to get good value.
Check out Hawaii Beach Time.
They meet you at the beach of your choice, and set you up with umbrella,
beach chairs, snorkeling gear, paddle board or kayak, cooler full of ice.
Then, at the time you choose, they come back and take it all away. They
have various package deals available.
We did umbrella, chairs, cooler, snorkeling gear and kayak at Sans Souci
(Kaimana) beach.
Oops, didn't read your post carefully enough.
We were on Oahu, not Maui or Hawaii.
@engineer,
Kind of late, but those planning a trip to Hawaii and helicopters. We did the helicopter ride on the Big Island, and thought it was worth the $$$. When we took the flight, the heliport was pretty busy with customers, so it is pretty popular.
You get to see most of the island, and the volcanoes. One volcano was active.
@engineer,
if you want to go the beach so its a awesome idea..for relaxation Hawaii beach is perfect.
@Freetraveltips,
As of this moment, Hawaii is definitely a vacation hot spot.
@roger,
I think we're going to Hawaii in September. We usually stay at my nephew's condo in Honolulu, but I want to visit the other islands too - especially Maui where my father was born. We love to spend time in Lahaina.
@cicerone imposter,
Maybe by then it won't be such a
Hot Spot for vacations.
@roger,
Hawaii is a popular vacation destination for more than Americans. Many Asians from the far east also visit Hawaii.
