I once had a friend who had a friend who owned a bar, and every once in a while he'd make pot brownies or cookies and pass them around the bar. It made for a very interesting bar night.

For some reason, they never had any effect on me.

Really? WOW, you must be the first foreigner who actually LIKES 'drop' Laughing When I was in Rome, we stayed in a youth hostel, and one evening we decided to give all the people in the hostel - primarily Americans, as well as Italians and South Africans - some 'drop'. Not one person liked it. Even worse: most asked us whether it would be an insult if they spit it out. We said no, and everybody spit it out. I still don't know whether I should laugh about it or take it as an insult.

Oh, my! What a horrible hostess. Didn't mean to "drop" out on you. Had to run get some more ingredients. Three more batches ready to go. Not saying which ones are "special."

I was never into any of that "stuff" butl a friend brought some special brownies to high school. She gave me one without letting me know what they were. Thought the texture a little odd, but didn't say anything. Later she told me what they were. Didn't do anything to me, either, Montana.

Rick - Brownies are a very rich chocolate cake type of dessert except it is more dense and moist than cake. Where a cake rises and gets more fluffy, a brownie is more the consistancey of a warm chewy cookie. Usually served in 2" squares and eaten with hands like a cookie.

Mmmmmm! I love baking!

I am not quite sure but I think I know what s'mores are.

At a baby shower two weeks ago I had Swedish chocolate cake that was almost like brownies - the biggest difference was that it was round... It was delicious!
