Hunny Bunny
Love is when I come home from work at 6:30 in the morning and I'm too damn tired to take off my makeup, and when I wake up with eye-liner every where on my face, you still love me, and even find it quite funny.
Love is when I don't know how to cook, and when I attempted to make you that strange looking/smelling/tasting omelette, you offered to take me out to dinner.
Love is when you let me listen to that same Tupac song over and over and over...
Love is when you make funny faces when I'm feeling down and out.

Daddy
Love is when you taught me how to stand up for myself.
Love is when you read me bedtime stories well past my bedtime becaue I wanted to hear "...just one more chapter..."
Love is when you always caught the kisses I blew.
Love is the time you drove 3 hours looking for me when I ran away, and yelled at me like I've never been yelled at before, and then bought me strawberry ice cream.
Love is the time the principle called you and told you I talked back to him, and you laughed and said, "I always knew that girl had fire." But then you made me hold peanut butter jars above my head for what seemed like forever....

Mommy
Love is when you always wait til I get inside the door before you drive away.
Love is your kisses and hugs that never run out.
Love is when I felt so bad about dissapointing you when I shop lifted, and that alone taught me never to do it again.
Love is when you nursed me through that awful flu.
Love is when you told me to take off that shirt because you said it made me look "fast."
Love is all those times you sat front-row to all my recitals, plays, and concerts because you knew I would be scared if I didn't saw your face.

Love is an action. It's something we do to show someone we care. Ain't love beautiful?

does everybody in this forum listen to tupac?? Confused

One can feel deeply lonely even though one's life is sexually gratifying, but with the "soft" love one feels socially grounded in a profound way.

Yes, very true. Well, I imagine so anyway.

Sign Related claims to have heard Tupac lyrics while he was experiencing a strange revelation of the 'general mind' involving pictures in the clouds (see his thread). I haven't actually really heard anything by Tupac, I've mainly just heard that he was murdered and all that. I've heard the odd thing by him, and I suspect I wouldn't really enjoy listening to him. It sounds like he's had a massive impact on gangster rap though, so I wouldn't want to say he's crap or anything like that, but I don't think I like him.

Some quotes on love and admiration that I found interesting and which I agree with:

"It is a divine pleasure to admire! Admiration seems in some measure to appropriate to ourselves the qualities it honors in others." - Lord Lytton

"Whoever loves becomes humble. Those who love have, so to speak, pawned a part of their narcissism." - Sigmund Freud

agrote: ahh, so i see. well, i wouldn't really say tupac had a profound impact on ganster rap, as most of the stuff now-a-days is garbage, but he did have a profound impact on his listeners. and since we are on the subject of "love," i'd like to throw in some parts of his song "Dear Mama."

When I was young me and my mama had beef
17 years old kicked out on the streets
Though back at the time I never thought I'd see her face
Ain't a woman alive that could take my mamas place.....

And even as a crack fiend mama
You always was a black queen mama
I finally understand for a woman it ain't easy trying to raise a man
You always was committed, poor single mother on welfare
Tell me how you did it, there's no way I can pay you back
But the plan is to show you that I understand
You are appreciated...

I needed money of my own so I started slangin'
I ain't guilty, 'cos even though I sell rocks
It feels good putting money in your mailbox
I love paying rent when the rent's due
I hope you got the diamond necklace that I sent to you
'Cos when I was low you was there for me
You never left me alone 'cos you cared for me
And I can see you coming home after work, late
You're in the kitchen tryin' to fix us a hot plate
Just working with the scraps you was given
And mama made miracles every Thanksgiving
But now the road got rough, you're alone
Tryin' to raise two bad kids on your own
And there's no way I can pay you back
But my plan is to show you that I understand
You are appreciated

Now that's love for ya...

This song's got me very excited at the moment, though not so much for the lyrics, but here they are anyway:

Jimi Hendrix - 'Bold as Love'

Anger he smiles, towering in shiny metallic purple armour
Queen jealousy, envy waits behind him
Her fiery green gown sneers at the grassy ground

Blue are the life-giving waters taken for granted,
They quietly understand
Once happy turquoise armies lay opposite ready,
But wonder why the fight is on

But they're all bold as love, yes, they're all bold as love
Yeah, they're all bold as love
Just ask the axis

My red is so confident that he flashes trophies of war and
Ribbons of euphoria
Orange is young, full of daring,
But very unsteady for the first go round
My yellow in this case is not so mellow
In fact I'm trying to say it's frigthened like me
And all these emotions of mine keep holding me from, eh,
Giving my life to a rainbow like you
But, I'm eh , yeah, I'm bold as love
Yeah, yeah
Well I'm bold, bold as love (hear me talking, girl)
I'm bold as love
Just ask the axis (he knows everything)
Yeah, yeah, yeah
