Kerry defends Bush "7 minutes"

Chris Matthews, host: If it was 9/11 and your husband were president of the United States;
remember how you imagined, we all saw a bit of how the President behaved. He was in a
school room, there was some hesitation and then they tried to protect him and then by two
or three days later he seemed to be in charge; how do you think your husband would have
behaved on 9/11?

Teresa Heinz Kerry: I think the President behaved correctly in terms of being quiet amidst
stunning news like that. I mean, a classroom of kids? what can you do? It takes you a
couple of minutes to digest what you?ve just heard. And then, he was not in his White
House with all of his people, he was in a school in Florida. I know that there are all
these people always available to the President? it must?ve been terrible. I mean, I don?t
know that anybody would have done what they normally do perfectly and under those
circumstances. ...

She's got more sense than hubby, and that isn't saying much it seems.

She was being polite and very kind why can't you leave it at that. Any normal person would have not reacted as he did. But than again we are speaking of Bush.

This is a woman others here have admired and complimented for speaking her mind.

It doesn't follow that she couldn't have just as easily and kindly stated another opinion (such as the one her husband is currently voicing.)

That leads me to believe that she honestly saw nothing wrong with the "7 minutes", but is now jumping on the bandwagon in criticism (although I've heard nothing directly from her to support this.)

So, maybe her original statement that he acted appropriately still stands.

I still think she was being very polite and kind. And as I said let it go at that. BrandX had to make a sarcastic remark about it.
