Translation into Latin of "When all else fails, hunt on the King's Land"

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help me with this one. It's something my great-grandfather used to say, based on how he fed his family during the Blitz.

Thanks!

EDIT: Also, any help with pronunciation would be greatly appreciated.

@RecklessPrudence,
Ceteris defectis, venare in terra regis

The pronunciation I know is what is sometimes called "ecclesiastical" or
"church latin". I believe in Classical Latin that first "c" would be pronounced
like "k".

CHAY-teh-reese de-FAKE-teese, VAIN-a-ray in TAYR-ra RAY-jeese.
