@George,
I'm surprised at the near consensus - I thought several games were tossups.

@CowDoc,
Surprises me also. I struggled deciding on about 6 games, so I expected a lot of split games for us. I'm still back and forth on a couple of them and may yet change before Sunday. One game in particular. Looks like another week may get decided by a tie-breaker among multiple players.

@CoastalRat,
Same here. I was split on 6 but now, for whatever reasoning, I'm split on 3. Horribly split on NYG-Atl Falcons, Titans-Browns, and Lions-Vikes.

@Ragman,
Yeah, with those.
I made one peculiar choice (Buffalo of course) for the fun of it, as I presume they'll get creamed, and a couple of venturesome ones (San Diego and, I thought, Indy).

I'm amazed at Patriots/Bills. The Pats are in trouble against this Bills D and
their own D is vulnerable.

@George,
As much as I said I presume the Bills will get creamed, I figure they have a (decent) chance.

@ossobuco,
FWIW, at this point in the season, when in doubt I go with the team with the strongest QB (unless that QB is named Cutler). Many team defenses haven't jelled yet.

I see an exception in the case of the Broncos...due to unknown status of Manning, a rookie coach and their depleted unknown defensive woes.

@Ragman,
I get tired of the Patriots this, the Patriots that, all the time. Also, I tend to play around in sports guessing.

@ossobuco,
I've observed some of your hunches working out pretty fairly. Exception being when you go with your fave LA or Oak teams. Wink

Re Bills, I get tired of Sexy Rexy mouthing off. His teams often can't cash the checks that his mouth is writing.

Should have been around in the late 70's, 80's and early 90's when the Patriots couldn't even get a seat at a table. After living through those years and watching my favorite sports hero (Steve Grogan) never get the spotlight. I love all the press my Pat's get these days. They are dynasty like the Steelers and Cowboys now.

@McGentrix,
Grogan was one of my faves and one of the toughest guttiest QBs I can recall. He played pretty well with some unbelievable injuries. In fact, for 35 yrs he had the rushing TD record until Cam Newton broke the record, (now 13 TD) recently. Sadly, some of these injuries were incurred when he would do his rushes.

The Boston Patriots came into being along with the AFL when I was in high
school. Up until then the NY Giants were the local team. Some of us
adopted the Patriots while others claimed the AFL was a joke (which was
mostly true at first) and remained Giants fans. Both camps were fanatical.

My favorite Patriot memory from the early days was going to a game in
Fenway Park.

@George,
Ahhh..I'm one of those oldies because I recall before or just after the Pats came into existence, we (my brothers and pre-teen me) used to watch Y.A. Tittle and those Giants.

@George,
I was able to get Grogan's autograph on the sidelines of a Bills game. One of most cherished items. Started following football at the old age of 7 when we lived in Maine. Naturally it was the Patriots. I used to have 2 jerseys, Grogan 14 and Tippett 56. Both were eventually shredded playing backyard football.
