Jesus wept, marriage is marriage, DOMA was thrown out precisely because it attempted to narrowly define marriage in contravention of the rights of those who don't define marriage that narrowly. What part of . . .

No state shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States

. . . did you fail to understand? I guess you'd be OK with marriage defined as a legal union of a man and a woman, if they are the same "race," huh?

This is section three of the Defense of Marriage Act:

n determining the meaning of any Act of Congress, or of any ruling, regulation, or interpretation of the various administrative bureaus and agencies of the United States, the word 'marriage' means only a legal union between one man and one woman as husband and wife, and the word 'spouse' refers only to a person of the opposite sex who is a husband or a wife.

It failed to pass constitutional muster. The Supremes, one of the most conservative courts which has ever sat, In a 5–4 decision on June 26, 2013, ruled Section 3 of DOMA to be unconstitutional, declaring it "a deprivation of the liberty of the person protected by the Fifth Amendment."

So, a body of people far more adroit and well educated in the law, and no less conservative than you are, don't agree with you. I have not doubt that you will be unmoved, and will peddle your sorry BS again in the future.

George Stephanopoulos questioning Huckabee's defense of Kim Davis.

The band Survivor has objected to the use of its song Eye of the Tiger during a rally celebrating the release of Rowan county clerk Kim Davis, who was jailed for six days after refusing to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples.

“NO! We did not grant Kim Davis any rights to use ‘My Tune -The Eye Of The Tiger,’” they wrote on their verified Facebook page on Tuesday.

Davis, who has repeatedly refused to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples for religious reasons, raised her arms in the air and basked in the moment.

She stood between Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee and her attorney Mathew Staver, who held her hands and smiled for the crowd. Huckabee has been vocal in his support of Davis and even said he would go to jail in her place during the rally.

“I would not grant her the rights to use Charmin! C’mom Mike, you are not The Donald but you can do better than that,” Survivor wrote on their Facebook page (sic).

One wonder how people would had feel if a clerk who religion ban divorce would had refused to issue one of the three marriage licenses that Kim Davis took out after her first marriage.

Kentucky clerk jailed over gay marriage to return to work
(The Associated Press, September 14, 2015)

A Kentucky clerk says she is not going to interfere with her deputies issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples, but she says she is not authorizing them and questions whether they are valid.

Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis read from a hand-written statement Monday morning, her first day back in the office after a stint in jail for five days for defying a federal judge. She choked up as she was speaking, saying she was torn between obeying her God and following the judge's orders.
