Having just returned from the Baja - and spending 2 days there, this town has a lot of things going for it. I like it more with each visit there.
What does A2K think of San Diego, CA?

I was thinking - if I were going to relocate I might be able to easily go there, except for housing costs.

I have an uncle that moved down there in the 1950s when he was in the Navy and never left. He loves that area. I've always heard good things about San Diego but never managed to get there myself.

San Diego is wonderful! I love everything abou it. However, as you go further south in Baha, the climate becomes unbearably hot and the terraine difficult and it is void of life. I went motorcycling there in the 80's for three days and it was hell. But returning to San Diego was like entering heaven.

Have to tell you it's all what you are used to. Last summer I brought a youngman (policeman) to Eastern Washington state for 3 weeks - everyday here in July - he couldn't believe how hot it was - he went back home and told them it was hotter in WA than 150 miles south of Ensenada on the baja. Much of that area while dry gets the same coastal breezes
that SanDiego enjoys. I was just there 13 days (baja) 6 miles from the ocean and the hottest day was about 85, but it has been in the low 90's in other years. If you go inland a little more and higher it does get hotter than a pistol!! for sure!

hamburger and mrs. hamburger will be there for about a week in December, before they cruise off for Hawaii. I was hoping to pick up some day trip ideas for them later this year.

Any special recommendations?

I lived there once, in La Jolla, for seven months. Single worst time in my life.

Pretty town though.
