Comparing American's invasion into Philippines and Mexico, the war in Iraq is running along amazingly similar courses. Bush is not the first to attempt imperial domination in a foreign country. The difference though, is that Bush could have avoided the mistakes of his predecessors by heeding the lessons of history. This article I found at foreignpolicy.com is a very provoking reading.

I would like to take it a step further and say Bush is repeating Napoleon's or Hirohito's mistakes.
