On CNN Headline News I just heard this idiotic newswoman reporting about Saddam's court appearance today, and she kept pronouncing it "Sah-DUM" over and over again, with a noticeable emphasis on the second syllable. She must have said it like fifteen times. I was so annoyed I couldn't even focus on what the actual story was.
I almost never watch this station. Is this how bad it is all the time? I mean, come on, what the hell kind of reporter can't pronounce the guy's name by now? She should be fired immediately.
Kicky, I know CNN can be a tough break away from the Cartoon Network....
Damn right! I'm going back to Speedy Gonzalez!
Generally CNN offers pretty good up to date news coverage. I missed this particular report...maybe she was pronouncing it that way, because that is the way that some foreign countries pronounce it
or maybe she just had too many martinis at dinner.
Colorbook, yes, I think CNN is good too, but this was a different cable channel, like a sister cable station. I think this must be where they put the interns. Oh my God, it was just so annoying.
Yes it can be annoying. When the Iraq war began there were so many interns reporting the same thing over and over and over again. One in particular (I can't remember his name) who was on every evening, was so boring
he even bored himself. He ran out of things to talk about and kept trying to keep himself from yawing.
I do like the < dark voice > 'Breaking News' stuff.
