Best place to buy dining room chairs

We got a great deal on a nice rustic looking dining room table - they were discontinuing the finish (which was our favorate) so we got it for a steal. Now we are trying to buy chairs. My husband does not have patience to wait - whereas I like to make sure I get what I want and not rush.

So online or any where else - where is a good place to get a chair. We found one we liked, but it is $300/chair and not sure how high the shipping will be. Also, I am hestiate on buying something this expensive online as who knows how it looks in person.

@Linkat,
Try Overstock. We've found some great deals there!

@Linkat,
Do you want that exact chair or do you want something similar in style and construction?

The description for the one you posted says it is a linen fabric. Is that specifically what you want or will other fabrics do?

Must it have the nail tacks on the edging?

Try this page. http://www.bostoninteriors.com/furniture/dining/dining_chairs/side_chairs/

If you see something you like and is affordable, you can probably look for it in one of their stores.

@Butrflynet,
Yeah I looked at boston interiors - we have bought furniture from them and they are down the street from me.

Do you think that chair goes well with the wood finish? I think we could be flexible on what we want - that just gives an idea of style. We were thinking not matching the wood with the chair - hard for me to completely envision I like to see in person.

@Butrflynet,
for fabric - I just want something that I wouldn't need to worry about being stained. This fabric is supposed to be stain resistant or whatever and the dark color helps too.

I do like the nail accents but not necessary. But I think in similar style and construction - do you think it would fit well with kinda a rustic wood look. This is a piece of furniture we bought at boston interiors has a similar style to our table.

@Linkat,
The chair you posted would probably be a better compliment if the nails were a darker metal to compliment the dark metal hardware on your sideboard. Rather than looking for a chair metal to compliment the sideboard, it might be easy to just replace the metal hardware on the sideboard once you've found a chair you like and want to match any metal finish it has.

What about these chairs:

My business partner and hub had a wonderful table, would that I had taken a picture. Perfect for a country food good cook and persnickety husband who manned the cd selection. I barely remember the chairs and I'm the type to notice. I'm sure I didn't take them as wrong somehow.
Old, as not from your local regular purveyor but not seriously antique. (She designed for years in Beverly Hills, which I'm not sure is an accolade, but knew her stuff). My own view would be to nose around, worth the time.

Gotta like your chair.

Have you explored antique stores?

@Butrflynet,
We actually have the sideboard in the kitchen not the dining, but the table is a similar style.

I did see those chairs maybe I can grab hubby and this weekend...he wanted everything for Mom's day.

@Linkat,
Some reason I got a zero for mentioning 'antique' stores? Sometimes those are wonderful places.

@ossobuco,
I didn't even notice that...if I had the though I'd love to but I didn't mark you down for it.

@Linkat,
I know you didn't, gurl. I'm just reacting.

I have bought great stuff from 'antique stores' - but a lot of people aren't interested in old stuff - which I can understand. It can be another world of interest though.

@MaryAguilar,
I also found a lot of great deals from Overstock, I even got a credit card from them. Found quite a few good deals while decorating the new house.

@Linkat,
I agree with antique option. Some antique furniture can be extremely forgiving.
