Rightly so. What does it matter what went into producing robbish?

If by 'seems' you mean 'totally and completely' then you are on to something. I thought everyone knew that nuclear energy is the only way to wean ourselves off of oil. Nuclear energy rocks!

I think the EU is a fantastic idea. But I think we should take it even further and make all of Europe one country. It makes the most sense, right?

Oh yes, clever - 35 languages in one nation state? As it is the various countries can't even agree about how to administer the union, and even interpretation of things like 'democracy' are different from country to country.

McDonalds and other cheap food purveyors cause meat to be produced in a disgusting way.

Then how come it tastes so good if it's so 'disgusting'? Millonsof people around the world can't be wrong. What are you, some kind of food snob?

I think vegetarians are idiots.

Only if you live in England where the dentists don't seem to know what the hell they're doing and charge you double for their lack of expertise.

Why do vegans have incisors?

That is not a statetment to argue with. It should be in the questions game!

Just because she asked about veggies' incisors? That's hardly enough to call someone silly.

I think hybrid cars are cool.

But they are far to expensive for the average motorist to contemplate! Electric cars were cool. Hydrogen cars were cool. Water cars were cool. But they are hopelessly impractical.

Global warming is the most important thing we have to deal with in the next few decades.

And how do you figure that? All of those nut job scientists can't predict anything at all. And even if this myth really happened, it wouldn't occur for another couple hundred years.

I think rapid globalization and its effects will be the most important thing we have to deal with in the next few decades.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize this thread ended last year. I quote from threadenders.com: "When a thread has not been answered for over 3 months it can be declared officially dead".

Okay edgar, I'm happy to accept your "says you" as a negation of Nickfun's argument that the thread was officially dead, but what is your new premise?

I was merely questioning his credentials to declare dead a thread of such social import.

Yeah, but your question was a contemptuous one, as nobody needs credentials in order to state an opinion. On the contrary, a well pondered thought is useful, even more than credentials.

It may have been viewed as contemptuous by those who could not hear the tone in my voice. Since Nick and I are friends and I assumed this to be at least somewhat a light-hearted thread, I didn't expect to be met with hostility.

If that wasn't a true blue bonafied thread revival, i just don't know what one is. Geez, you'd think you people would just be glad for another of the neverending threads to have opened up. dang.

Edgar, my friend, the title of this thread mistaken me. I thought it's goal was arguing for nothing about everything, a game I affectionate.

I was thinking about a situation like this: get a rise

My own tone was rather ironic with no trace of hostility, sorry if you thought otherwise...
