The universe is dying. I read about it today. That makes me sad. If we don't go extinct of our own efforts, we will go extinct anyway. All that art and literature, not to mention eating and procreating. From my point of view, such a waste.

Yeah but everyone is dying, from before they're born. It's a nice kind of symmetry that the universe is too. All is vanity.

Besides we, i.e. life, invented flush toilets and dental hygiene in a cosmic blink. Cosmic palliative care probably isn't beyond us - FSM knows we have a lot of time, and who knows we might find something better.

Looks like he went to a lot of trouble to maintain 'plausible deniability' for his existence.

There is an explaination.
What if God is intentionally concealing his existence?
Could anyone feel like they had free will with a God breathing down their neck?

I am genuinely curious what makes an atheist so certain there is no God.

Honest ones admit that we don't know where life or the universe came from so what is it that gives them certainty? I wanted to be an atheist if there was convincing evidence that there was no God because intellectual honesty is important to me. But I just do not have sufficient faith to be an atheist.

One of the best ways to determine if you are atheist material on A2K, Leadfoot, is to determine if you are going to try to tell people what they can and cannot say in a thread.

Atheists here seem to think they can reserve threads only for their own use...and will be outraged if non-atheists ever try to treat a non-atheist thread the same way.

If you think that is a reasonable way to conduct business here...you are atheist material...even if you worship a god.

If you think that is garbage...you will never make the grade in the A2K atheist department.

Oh...and if Edgar ever tells you that he has put you on IGNORE...almost every time you post anything after that...he will immediately post something without mentioning your post...apparently trying to convince himself that he actually is ignoring you.

He is the only one who needs convincing. Almost everyone else realizes he is not.
